Meet Lila Nikole | Designer & Wardrobe Stylist
We had the good fortune of connecting with Lila Nikole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lila, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Some of the habits that have helped me succeed include broadening my spectrum of design into areas where we normally not fit and making sure to always create- even if a project is not due. I also like to reserach upcoming trends in fashion as well as TV and entertainment to help inspire new ideas. Lastly, I like to work through projects, I don’t like to let them sit. I feel like the burst of ideas I get must be fulfilled quickly before I change my ideas.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been designing fashion, swimwear and costumes since I was very young. I always found myself cutting up its and glueing or sewing them into something different. Being creative keeps me in a clear ad happy space so I decide as good as I graduated from college to open a business. I had no capital or experience but I believed I could make it happen. I have successfully built a brand from the ground up that still rocks! It was not easy, but I learned so much on the path. I kept my head in the game and kept pushing. I am in a great space not but I still want more. I continue to teach myself new methods and techniques in design and business to keep pushing forward and staying current. I have many achievements I am proud of but the first one that came to mind was the first time I picked up a Sports Illustrated Swim Magazine ( The bible of all swimwear) and had nine products displayed on some of my favorite supermodels in the same issue. I then followed suit multiple years in a row successfully being placed amongst some of the best brands in our business. If I could let the world know one things about our brand, I would share that we are a family brand built from the ground up, loyal t our community and enriched in community outreach. We truly believe in giving back and immerse ourselves in all types of projects to make sure our blessings are pushed forward.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my friend came into Miami for a day, I would take them on the less likely path. I would rent a yacht for the day, bring some catered food snacks, champagne, and fruits. I would have a dj or a dj set ready while we spend the day at sea relaxing listening to beats and dancing while we are catching up. My schedule doesn’t allow for much leisure time, so a date like this with someone I considered a friend would be amazing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
